Frequently asked questions:

• How much do your language classes cost?
  • Foreign language classes are $65 for eight weeks; English as a Second Language (ESL) is $210 for eight weeks. However, our conversation groups are free of charge.
• How do I sign up for a class?
  • For more information on how to sign up for classes, please visit our page about language classes here.
• Can I try out a class before committing?
  • Unfortunately no. Because our courses are taught for only eight weeks, there are no trial classes.
• Are your teachers qualified to teach?
  • Of course! All our teachers are either native speakers of their languages, have professional experience teaching that language, or both!
• Do I have to be a Purdue student or staff member to take a class?
  • Not at all! Our courses and conversation groups are open to any member of the Greater Lafayette community age 15 or older. Welcome!
• Do I need to sign up or RSVP for a conversation group?
  • Nope! Because conversation groups are free and a casual environment, all you need to do to participate is show up to the conversation group you are interested in. All conversation groups are held in the International Center's Multipurpose Room, unless otherwise noted.

• Can you sponsor my visa?
  • We're very sorry, but the International Center is a small non-profit organization and not a large educational institution. We are not able to sponsor any student visas.
• Where can I park when visiting the International Center?
  • ​​Parking is available on Russell Street (with a Purdue A-B permit within certain hours), Tarkington Drive (with an International Center permit), or on nearby streets. You can request for the IC parking permit at the office. 

Parking behind the IC building on Tarkington Drive is only for the IC event & program attendees during their participation. It can't be used as a private parking if you're not at the IC!
